The following is a first-hand account of the meeting...

All the African regions were represented by their supervisors, and their faith encouraged all of as we believe that "A community ignites and multiplies faith, your faith stirs my faith, and together our faith is greater than the individual parts."

Speaking on the VCP cornerstone of faith, Bruce Bennett opened by sharing with the audience from 1 Kings 18:21; Acts 19:11-12, Revelation 3:15, and John 13:36-39, on the commitment to the cause.

BopooloBopoolo

On the second day, Bopoolo shared from Deuteronomy 29:6 and 30:11, highlighting how Moses spoke to the Hebrew community about God's Law not being far from them but in their heart.

On the third day, Thierry shared from Colossians 3:23-24 and 4:17. After giving the background of the book, he encouraged us to work heartily, and emphasized that whatever we do we should do it as unto the Lord.

On the fourth day, Marius Botha shared with us on the power of the tongue. He warned us saying that with our words we can create or destroy.

Bruce Bennett introduced a new teaching taken from a book entitled The Movements that Change the World, by Steve Edison. Bruce used input from this book and the current situation in Arab world to challenge us. The question that kept coming back was, "What can we do differently?" Every supervisor committed himself to go back to his region and mobilize all to make disciples using the Mobilizing Members manual.

A highlight of the meeting was when all of the supervisors shared their faith goals. These goals might look very ambitious and unrealistic to some, but our supervisors not only shared these with each other but demonstrated how they could achieve these. All we can do is join them and pray with them.

The conference ended with the breaking bread led by Emmanuel Tshilenga. He and his wife Elisabeth prayed for the supervisors, who were about to leave South Africa for their ministry fields.
