Testimony: Clearing Unrepented Sin Brings Health
Scripture
O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. For your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down upon me. Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; my bones have no soundness because of my sin. My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly. My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes. (Psalm 38:1-5, 10)
Testimony
A little over two years ago a friend of mine was diagnosed with leukaemia. The prognosis was extremely bleak, and one night his wife was told to expect the worst. She immediately refused to accept the prognosis, desperately pleading to God for his life instead.
That night the friend met with Jesus at the end of life, asking him what his wish was: “To live or to die?” Laying in intensive care with nothing to bargain with, my dear friend chose life. Jesus granted his wish on condition that he patch up his broken relationship with his father and brother.
Laying in his hospital bed that night he still wondered how he was going to contact his father whom he had not spoken to for over two years. When he opened his eyes the next morning at 8.30 AM his father was standing next to his bed. He obeyed Jesus’ command and today, about 24 months later, he is free from any cancer in his body and we praise God for this miracle.
Let Satan not fool you as he did Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Sin against God will affect your life and if unrepented will cost your life. David’s sin caused him immense anguish and so will yours. I encourage you to break with any sin in your life so that you can enjoy the abundance of life that Jesus promised us: “... I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b).
The above was written by Dr. Alf Bennett, a good friend of mine. Also, the person that he spoke about that had leukaemia, was me, Marius Botha. I can only thank God the Almighty for my healing and all the glory must go to Him.
I knew that the moment I forgive my farther, I was healed there and then.
We are not suggesting that all diseases are the result of sin, but Psalm 38 clearly suggests that our health is affected by sin.
Prayer
Father God I am sinner. Thank You for redeeming me by the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ. Help me not to sin against You, and forgive me my sin when I do so. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
