Involvement in Mozambique

Larry and Susan Weil have served with One Mission Society in Mozambique since October 1996. They arrived two weeks after Christian Academy in Mozambique (CAM) officially opened.

Larry has been the OMS field treasurer since 2000. He continues to do the bookkeeping for CAM as well. He also assists in the computer classes and the upkeep of the computer lab. He facilitates maintenance at the school and in the missionaries’ homes. He enjoys being the field photographer and video technician and has put together many videos showing the various ministries in Mozambique.

Susan took over the directorship of CAM in 2006 and is involved in teaching various subjects, including music and directing the secondary choir.

Larry and Susan have been mentors to the growing Living Word Evangelical Church in the city of Maputo since 2003. It has been rewarding to see the spiritual growth in the leadership, and they look forward to seeing the church grow in numbers now that they will have a larger facility to use.

Educational Background

A graduate of Seattle Pacific University with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology/anthropology, Larry also attended the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1982 with an associate of arts degree in mortuary science. Larry worked in funeral homes from 1980 to 1995 and then went to India from 1995 to 1996 to train the business manager of Allahabad Bible Seminary on the computer.

Susan graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in foods/nutrition. She has worked in various medical offices doing clerical and bookkeeping jobs. Susan served as an office manager for a family practice clinic for four years before going to India where she directed the seminary choir and did clerical work.

A History of Missionary Involement

The Weils were involved in missions long before their trip to India. Susan’s parents, Nathan and Fern Krampitz, served 32 years with OMS in India where Susan spent 12 years of her life. The Weils served on the worship team at their home church as well as the elder board and missions committee. They count it a great blessing to serve the Lord in Mozambique.
